Tips For Sai Devotees

1. For proper guidance and assistance to the devotees, Reception centre has been opened opposite the S. T. Bus stand.

2. On arrival at Shirdi, devotees should immediately get in touch with the above mentioned Reception centre of the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi and should thereafter proceed to the Enquiry office for booking their accommodation which is made available after registration of name and other particulars.

3. Occupied room/s should be locked before going out.

4. If the accommodation provided is in the common hall, luggage should always be left in charge of a member of the party to safeguard it from antisocial elements.

5. A locker is available at nominal charge and against a deposit, which may be booked at the Enquiry office, and used for keeping luggage or any other valuables.

6. Care should be taken not to leave any belongings behind in the toilets and the bathrooms.

7. As the Samadhi Mandir is overcrowded at the time of Aarati, devotees should safeguard their ornaments and purses from pickpocketers and mind their children.

8. Devotees should note that all religious functions and Poojas in the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi premises are to be arranged and performed through the office of the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi. Necessary payments for these are to be made at the office against a receipt. Boxes have been provided by the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi in the Mandir itself to receive the devotees' offerings by way of Dakshina and Hundis.

9. Offering to Shri Sai Baba in cash or kind should always be made at the office against a receipt.

10. Devotees should bear in mind that Baba left no heirs or disciples and should guard themselves against such deception practised by impostors.

11. As all the necessary assistance and guidance is readily available to the devotees at the Reception centre of the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi assistance from unauthorised guides at the S. T. stand, if taken by the devotees, will be at their own risk.

12. Devotees are warned against practitioners of black magic professing allegiance to Shri Sai Baba, and also against those circulating chainletters, asking the receiver to sena a certain number of copies of the letter to his friends.

13. Literature about Shri Sai Baba containing authentic information in various languages has been published by the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi at reasonable prices and is readily available at its Book shops near the Samadhi Mandir.

14. A complaint/suggestion book is always kept in the office for the use by the devotees, in which they are requested to write clearly their complaints/suggestions along with their full names and addresses. The Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi authorities take due note of such complaints/suggestions.

15. Donations should always be sent by Money Orders, Postal Orders, Crossed and A/c. Payee Cheques or Drafts to ensure safe delivery of the same. Do not send cash or currency notes in postal envelopes.

16. As the various dealers and vendors of Pooja articles are not connected with the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, devotees should first fix the price before buying these articles to avoid any trouble thereafter.

17. All donations for oil for the Nanda-deep and for firewood for Dhuni in the Dwarkamai are to be given in the Accounts office only. Further details regarding these can be obtained from the Temple- in-charge.

18. Devotees desirous of feeding the poor can arrange to do so against cash payments to be made to the Prasadalaya itself or the Account office. Coupons are not accepted for this purpose.

19. Devotees making correspondence should give their complete and correct addresses.

20. Devotees are requested to avail of the facilities at the Tea canteen and Prasadalaya run by the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi where tea and meals are served at subsidised rates.

21. Medical facilities are available at the well-equipped 'Shri Sainath Hospital' run by the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi.

22. The Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi has not appointed any representative for the purpose of collecting donations in cash or otherwise. Devotees are informed that no donations either in cash or otherwise should be given to anybody personally. This is to avoid deceit as well as to prevent devotees from being cheated by unscruplous elements.

23. The 'Holy Padukas' (foot-wears) of Lord Shri Sai Baba are only with the Shri SaiBaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, kept for darshan in Sai Baba Mandir; and not elsewhere.

हे साई । आपके श्रीचरण धन्य है और उनका स्मरण कितना सुखदायी है । आपके भवभयविनाशक स्वरुप का दर्शन भी धन्य है, जिसके फलस्वरुप कर्मबन्धन छिन्नभिन्न हो जाते है । यघपि अब हमें आपके सगुण स्वरुप का दर्शन नहीं हो सकता, फिर भी यदि भक्तगण आपके श्रीचरणों में श्रद्घा रखें तो आप उन्हें प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव दे दिया करते है । आप एक अज्ञात आकर्षण शक्ति द्घारा निकटस्थ या दूरस्थ भक्तों को अपने समीप खींचकर उन्हें एक दयालु माता की नाई हृदय से लगाते है । हे साई । भक्त नहीं जानते कि आपका निवास कहाँ है, परन्तु आप इस कुशलता से उन्हें प्रेरित करते है, जिसके परिणामस्वरुप भासित होने लगता है कि आपका अभय हस्त उनके सिर पर है और यह आपकी ही कृपा-दृष्टि का परिणाम है कि उन्हें अज्ञात सहायता सदैव प्राप्त होती रहती है । अहंकार के वशीभूत होकर उच्च कोटि के विद्घान और चतुर पुरुष भी इस भवसागर की दलदल में फँस जाते है । परन्तु हे साई । आप केवल अपनी शक्ति से असहाय और सुहृदय भक्तों को इस दलदल से उबारकर उनकी रक्षा किया करते है । पर्दे की ओट में छिपे रहकर आप ही तो सब न्याय कर रहे है । फिर भी आप ऐसा अभिनय करते है, जैसे उनसे आपका कोई सम्बन्ध ही न हो । कोई भी आप की संपूर्ण जीवन गाथा न जान सका । इसलिये यही श्रेयस्कर है कि हम अनन्य भाव से आपके श्रीचरणों की शरण में आ जायें और अपने पापों से मुक्त होने के लिये एकमात्र आपका ही नामस्मरण करते रहे । आप अपने निष्काम भक्तों की समस्त इच्छाएँ पूर्ण कर उन्हें परमानन्द की प्राप्ति करा दिया करते है । केवल आपके मधुर नाम का उच्चारण ही भक्तों के लिये अत्यन्त सुगम पथ है । इस साधन से उनमें राजसिक और तामसिक गुणों का हिरास होकर सात्विक और धार्मिक गुणों का विकार होगा । इसके साथ ही साथ उन्हें क्रमशः विवेक, वैराग्य और ज्ञान की भी प्राप्ति हो जायेगी । तब उन्हें आत्मस्थित होकर गुरु से भी अभिन्नता प्राप्त होगी और इसका ही दूसरा अर्थ है गुरु के प्रति अनन्य भाव से शरणागत होना । इसका निश्चित प्रमाण केवल यही है कि तब हमारा मन स्थिर और शांत हो जाता है । इस शरणागति, भक्ति और ज्ञान की मह्त्ता अद्घितीय है, क्योंकि इनके साथ ही शांति, वैराग्य, कीर्ति, मोक्ष इत्यादि की भी प्राप्ति सहज ही हो जाती है ।
यदि बाबा अपने भक्तों पर अनुग्रह करते है तो वे सदैव ही उनके समीप रहते है, चाहे भक्त कहीं भी क्योंन चला जाये, परन्तु वे तो किसी न किसी रुप में पहले ही वहाँ पहुँच जाते है । यह निम्नलिखित कथा से स्पष्ट है ।

गया यात्रा~~~

बाबा से परिचय होने के कुछ काल पश्चात ही काकासाहेब दीक्षित ने अपने ज्येष्ठ पुत्र बापू का नागपुर में उपनयन संस्कार करने का निश्चय किया और गभग उसी समय नानासाहेब चाँदोरकर ने भी अपने ज्येष्ट पुत्र का ग्वालियार में शादी करने का कार्यक्रम बनाया । दीक्षित और चांदोरकर दोनों ही शिरडी आये और प्रेमपूर्वक उन्होंने बाबा को निमन्त्रण दिया । तब उन्होंने अपने प्रतिनिधि शामा को ले जाने को कहा, परन्तु जब उन्होंने स्वयं पधारने के लिये उनसे आग्रह किया तो उन्होंने उत्तर दिया कि बनारस और प्रयाग निकल जाने के पश्चात, मैं शामा से पहले ही पहुँच जाऊँगा, पाठकगण । कृपया इन शब्दों को ध्यान में रखें, क्योंकि ये शब्द बाबा की सर्वज्ञता के बोधक है ।
बाबा की आज्ञा प्राप्त कर शामा ने इन उत्सवों में सम्मिलित होने के लिये प्रथम नागपुर, ग्वालियर और इसके पश्चात काशी, प्रयाग और गया जाने का निश्चय किया । अप्पाकोते भी शामा के साथ जाने को तैयार हो गये । प्रथम तो वे दोनों उपनयन संस्कार में सम्मिलित होने नागपुर पहुँचे । वहाँ काकासाहेब दीक्षित ने शामा को दो सौ रुपये खर्च के निमित्त दिये । वहाँ से वे लोग विवाह में सम्मिलित होनें ग्वालियर गये । वहाँ नानासाहेब चांदोरकर ने सौ रुपये और उनके संबंधी श्री. जुठर ने भी सौ रुपये शामा को भेंट किये । फिर शामा काशी पहुँचे, जहाँ जठार ने लक्ष्मी-नारायण जी के भव्य मंदिर में उनका उत्तम स्वागत किया, अयोध्या में जठार के व्यवस्थापक ने भी शामा का अच्छा स्वागत किया । शामा और कोते अयोध्या में 21 दिन तथा काशी (बनारस) में दो मास ठहर कर फिर गया को रवाना हो गये । गया में प्लेग फैलने का समाचार रेलगाड़ी में सुनकर इल नोगों को थोड़ी चिन्ता सी होने लगी । फिर भी रात्रि को वे गया स्टेशन पर उतरे और एक धर्मशाला में जाकर ठहरे । प्रातःकाल गया वाला पुजारी (पंडा), जो यात्रियों के ठहरने और भोजन की व्यवस्था किया करता था, आया और कहने लगा कि सब यात्री तो प्रस्थान कर चुके है, इसलिये अब आप भी शीघ्रता करे । शामा ने सहज ही उससे पूछा कि क्या गया में प्लेग फैला है । तब पुजारी ने कहा कि नहीं । आप निर्विघ्र मेरे यहाँ पधारकर वस्तुस्थिति का स्वयं अवलोकन कर ले । तब वे उसके साथ उसके मकान पर पहुँचे । उसका मकान क्या, एक विशाल महल था, जिसमें पर्याप्त यात्री विश्राम पा सकते थे । शामा को भी उसी स्थान पर ठहराया गया, जो उन्हें अत्यन्त प्रिय लगा । बाबा का एक बड़ा चित्र, जो कि मकान के अग्रिम बाग के ठीक मध्य में लगा था, देखकर वे अति प्रसन्न हो गये । उनका हृदय भर आया और उन्हें बाबा के शब्दों की स्मृति हो आई कि मैं काशी और प्रयाग निकल जाने के पश्चात शामा से आगे ही पहुँच जाऊँगा । शामा की आँखों से अश्रुओं की धारा बहने लगी और उनके शरीर में रोमांच हो आया तथा कंठ रुँध गया और रोते-रोते उनकी घिग्घियाँ बँध गई । पुजारी ने शामा की जो ऐसी स्थिति देखी तो उसने सोचा कि यह व्यक्ति प्लेगी की सूचना पर भयभीत होकर रुदन कर रहा है, परन्तु शामा ने उसी कल्पना के विपरीत ही प्रश्न किया कि यह बाबा का चित्र तुम्हें कहाँ से मिला । उसने उत्तर दिया कि मेरे दो-तीन सौ दलाल मनमाड और पुणताम्बे श्रेत्र में काम करते है तथा उस क्षेत्र से गया आने वाले यात्रियों की सुविधा का विशेष ध्यान रखा करते है । वहाँ शिरडी के साई महाराज की कीर्ति मुझे सुनाई पड़ी । लगभग बारह वर्ष हुए, मैंने स्वयं शिरडी जाकर बाबा के श्री दर्शन का लाभ उठाया था और वहीं शामा के घर में लगे हुए उनके चित्र से मैं आकर्षित हुआ था । तभी बाबा की आज्ञा से शामा ने जो चित्र मुझे भेंट किया था, यह वही चित्र है । शामा की पूर्व स्मृति जागृत हो आई और जब गया वाले पुजारी को यह ज्ञात हुआ कि ये वही शामा है, जिन्होंने मुझे इस चित्र द्घारा अनुगृहित किया था और आज मेरे यहाँ अतिथि बनकर ठहरे है तो उसके आनन्द की सीमा न रही । दोनों बड़े प्रेमपूर्वक मिलकर हर्षित हुए । फिर पुजारी ने शामा का बादशाही ढंग से भव्य स्वागत किया । वह एक धनाढ़्य व्यक्ति था । स्वयं डोली में और शामा को हाथी पर बिठाकर खूब घुमाया तथा हर प्रकार से उनकी सुख-सुविधा का ध्यान रखा । इस कथा ने सिदृ कर दिया कि बाबा के वचन सत्य निकले । उनका अपने भक्तों पर कितना स्नेह था, इसको तो छोड़ो । वे तो सब प्राणयों पर एक-सा प्रेम किया करते थे और उन्हें अपना ही स्वरुप समझते थे ।
